Itinerary: Kicking it all off

September 11

It is that time of year again! Take Me to the River, the festival of festivals celebrating art in the St. Croix Valley, kicks off on September 11 with Art on the Kinni in River Falls.

On the banks of the Kinnickinnic River

Art on the Kinni is organized by the River Falls Community Arts Base and features work for sale from 60 juried artists along the scenic tree-lined Kinnickinnic White Pathway in Downtown River Falls.  Live music on two stages, kids’ activities and local food vendors round out the festive atmosphere.

This one day event takes place Saturday, September 11 from 9am-5pm along the Kinnickinnic White Pathway between Hertitage Park and Falls Street in River Falls, WI.

Lunch Along the River

Options for lunch in River Falls abound along Main Street, or head over to Stillwater for a bite at one of the many restaurants downtown. Two great options – Charlie’s Irish Pub and Papa’s Rooftop can be found at the Water Street Inn, 101 Water Street S., Stillwater, MN.

The Gallery up the Hill

Be sure to head up the hill in Stillwater to the galleries at ArtReach St. Croix to see “Finding Place,” a gallery exhibition featuring work by three emerging artists – Joshua Eller, Olivia Jenson and Ashley Kolka-Lee. The common theme of place in the exhibit takes on unique and personal meanings for each artist.

“Finding Place” is open Wednesdays-Friday, 10am-4pm and Saturdays, 12-4pm at ArtReach St. Croix, 224 N. 4th Street in Stillwater, MN. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, October 2.
